Everything Cheeseburger -- i.e. stuff
A collection of stuff we like. The strange name of this page is inspired by the lyrics of a Lyle Lovett song, below, which Lisa played me one day
Lyle Lovetts Here I am. Lisa discovered it December 29th while driving home from work she and I just love his jocular lyrics!
When I work out at my gym or at the local highschool track, I wear my RoadID. Thank you Lisa for the great gift and piece of mind! My band is red, our favorite color!
The brainchild of one Garrison Keillor -- who Lisa knew in her days in public radio in Minneapolis the radio show A Prairie Home Companion is my favorite (and only) regular radio entertainment show, every Saturday at 5:00 oclock on WBEZ in Chicago.
Campione has many unique features
An Italian town marooned within the edge of Switzerland.
Lack of typical international borders checks
Use of Swiss currency, stampage, and other quirks
 Tax-free haven
Site of the largest Casino in Europe (visible above it replaced a more modest-sized one along the lakeshore)
A town naturally kept small by its perch between Lake Lugano and the steep mountainside of Mt. Sighignola.
The only (unfinished) mountain funiculare that would have crossed international borders TWICE (discussion and pictures, in Italian)
One of its residents has been implicated in funding activities tied to 9-11
Site of pre-WWII Fascist/Communist intrigue. A communist assassin during Mussolinis reign fled from Italy to Lugano, across the lake in Switzerland. Italian authorities caught up with him by sending a seductress-spy to court him and and lure him, one casual day, across the borderless border to Campione, where he was summarily arrested. And then hung!
At one time it hosted perhaps the most radio stations and television stations per capita in the world
